{{AU ft magical/ folklore critters in the modern day. They live as an underground society beneath that of humans. The 5 Unions are factions meant to organise and maintain order among the underground, though every now and then tensions flare up. Such as now.}}
Invi sat at her desk, hands laced in front of her. Waiting. Her hood was drawn, scarf neat and tidy about her neck and her mask in place. Outside the night was starting to wane, her 'work day' of sorts nearly at its end...if the duties of a faction leader ever ended outside so called office hours that is.
Through the slats of her mask, she eyed the folder near her hands, resting unassumingly on the hardwood of her table. She wondered if she was making a wise choice, given the circumstances. Perhaps she should wait a little longer instead, see how things here in Daybreak Town played out first.
But, she reminded herself, she'd already organised everything, already decided before the nagging sense of doubt set in that this was the best option compared to the alternatives. And experience told her, sometimes things played out no matter what you did to try and avoid them. This was a fact in her mind, one she could count on.
Invi brushed her self doubt away then and glanced at the clock. 4:32am. Aqua would be here soon. She could count on that too.
