Sunlight filtered into the inner chamber from the lunette window stretching across the top of the oaken doors, glittering prettily on the surface of the pool. Invi watched it, the length of her snakelike form resting languidly along the edge of the waters.

A little longer and she'd be warm enough to move with confidence...and resume her fretting from yesterday.

Invi cast a weary glance at her scaly body; the source of her lethargy and anxiety obvious. Her once sleek form was rounded out, especially towards her tail. Her arrival, specifically that of her eggs, was imminent. As of yesterday, if Invi was being truthful with herself (She was bad at that).

Hindsight was bittersweet. Her lack of foresight-how very ironic for her, Foreteller Invi- was mostly bitter though.
